Sign language is a visual form of communication expressed through physical movements instead of spoken words.
SignSight aims to improve communication accessibility for people who rely on nonverbal communication.As an interpretation and learning tool, SignSight is designed to translate signs into letters.
The AI model used in SignSight coverts the signs into letters (from A-Z, and SPACE) and displays them on the screen.
SignSight logs signed history so users can go back through passed translations.
Our primary objectives - To develop a machine learning model that accurately recognizes and translates sign language gestures into written or spoken language, with the goal of improving communication accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in various settings, such as education, healthcare, and social interactions.Content - Sign language relies on visible cues from hands, eyes, facial expressions, and movements.
Like spoken language, sign language has many different forms (there are around 300 different forms of sign language around the world).
Because of the complexities of fully understanding an entire field of communication, this app is limited to hand gestures of a single form sign language.Goals - This app will continue to improve, with a goal of supporting the over 300 varying forms of sign language.
With continued optimization we hope to achieve near realtime level of interpretation and translation, with high precision and accuracy.
